Goal: Double the number of contracts from 7 to 14 in 24 months
Low and moderate income families are prime targets for the subprime market’s predatory lenders. The current subprime crisis has led many to believe that income is the primary indicator of homebuyer success. At FAHE we believe any family can be successful homebuyers if they have a fair, affordable loan and compassionate professional servicing. During FY2009, FAHE's 30-day delinquency was less than 3% and foreclosures under 1.5%. The average income of the borrowers in this portfolio? Less than $20,000.
FAHE offers the success of this model to other affordable housing providers that want to divest their administrative functions and focus on their mission. Contracting with FAHE takes advantage of our investments in infrastructure, human capital and technology. Having successfully replicated FAHE’s servicing model, we prove that successful homeownership is possible for any family, regardless of income.
FAHE currently holds servicing contracts for eight outside portfolios. We have successfully reduced the delinquency rate of each portfolio added to the compact.
